Finishing 101 With Shirley Paden

Shirley has been teaching at Gotta Knit for 12 years, helping students turn their handknit pieces into a completed and professional looking garment. Even if you think you know how to “finish” you’re in for a treat when you take a class with the best.

We are now offering a 2 hour private finishing seminar held in two sessions, at your convenience.

SESSION I:

  • 3 needle bind off to seam shoulders
  • setting in sleeves
  • sewing virtually invisable seams
  • weaving in ends

SESSION II:

  • picking up stitches around neck and button band
  • calculating placement of, and creating button holes
  • burying ends

required materials:

Your own sweater pieces, T pins, big eye sewing needle, tape measure
